Food is not your enemy. You don’t need to stay away from food you just need to build a better relationship with it. Learning to cook tasty nutritious meals can be great fun and if you join a class you will be eager to practise your new found talents at home.

 

  • Drink plenty of water.

This is one of those diet tips that we all go on and on about but it is very important. Keep well hydrated it will stop you from feeling hungry. In fact when you do feel a hunger pang it may just be that you are thirsty so drink a glass of water first the chances are that you will not feel hungry after.

 

  • Experiment!

We are all different. A diet that works for your best mate may not be right for you. I suggest that you try different ideas out on yourself. As long as you know that it isn’t going to damage your health or cause weight gain then why not try it. Keep a record of how you feel and other factors such as weight loss. It could be fun and you will find out a bit about your body.

 

  • Write a menu.

Every week decide what you will eat for each meal in advance. This will make life simpler and will help with composing and sticking to that shopping list.

 

  • Shop smart

Stick to the shopping list and don’t go shopping when you are hungry.

 

  • Never say never.

If you say to yourself I am never going to eat another bar of chocolate again you are setting yourself up for a fall. If you love certain bad for you foods don’t give them up eat them occasionally in moderation.

 

  • Try something new

Make a point of trying a new food or meal at least once a week. Variety is the spice of life.
